AW3418DW, Alienware Gaming Monitor Control, lighting

I recently purchased this gaming monitor. I installed the Alienware Gaming Monitor Control Center as on the AW3418DW driver page. When I launch the application, it says to "Connect Alienware monitor" even though my monitor is connected to my PC Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB via a DP connection and shows up in the device manager as AW3418DW. I've restarted and reinstalled the application a few times. How can I correct this?
