Amd Radeon HD 8990

Hello,

I have an Aurora R-4 with Windows 7. My problem is I bought a Wacom Cintiq 16" and I have no where

to connect it. The only connector on my video card is occupied by my monitor.  The wacom requires

a HDMI,and a USB , but my system is rather old and the connector is a DVI type. What is the best way to handle

this situation?  I have a photo. Any help is greatly appreciated. MY graphics card is AMD Radeon  HD 8990.20210206_130539.jpg

Thanks Sheron

MINI Display port to HDMI is fine.

HOWEVER

Radeon HD 8990 is now legacy so you cannot use the latest drivers

If the wacom device has a cable that ends like this (male):

hdmi male.png

then you'd need a female hdmi adapter like this:

Otherwise, if the wacom device has an hdmi port that end like this (female), then something like the link I provided above is fine:hdmi female.png

No need to get hdmi adapter. Just get a miniDP to miniDP cable.

I'm not familiar with the wacom, but in your photo you have 4 mini displayports.

You can get a mini-dp to hdmi adapter.

https://www.amazon.com/Rankie-Mini-DisplayPort-Cable-Ready/dp/B00YONKZ72/

The mini dp would go into the PC, and the hdmi gets plugged into the output device.

HD8990 has x1 DVI, but x4 mini-DisplayPort

eBay / amazon / google search = HDMI to mini DisplayPort cable (or) HDMI to mini DisplayPort adaptor

google search = what is mini Display Port? (or) adapt hdmi to mini Display Port

Hdmi is not the only way to connect to pc. Can also do miniDP to DP, or in your case miniDP to minDP. https://www.wacom.com/en-jp/support?guideTitle=How-do-I-connect-my-computer-to-a-Wacom-Cintiq-Pro-13%2F16%3F&guideId=003-304 Connect the Mini DisplayPort cable or HDMI cable to the Wacom Link Plus and computer. *Only one video connection is needed, use either the mini-display port or HDMI cable. Connect the USB-B to USB-A cable to the Wacom Link Plus and computer.

"Correct. Cintiq 16 has hdmi only.   http://101.wacom.com/UserHelp/en/TOC/DTK-1660.html  I think I confused OP Cintiq 16 with Wacom Cintiq Pro 13/16."

Yeah, I'm not familiar with it either, I was thinking port, but after reading the description it might have a cable instead.

I'm not following.  I don't see where it says the wacom has a miniDP.  The photo with the miniDP is the GPU.

Hardware Requirements

HDMI port and standard USB-A port

Ports Included

Wacom Cintiq 16:

  • 3-in-1 cable port only

Wacom Cintiq 22:

  • HDMI port
  • USB-A por
