Area-51 R2, overheating

My 2014 Area-51 R2  is having overheating issues. The GPU (GeForce GTX 980) and the front board sensor heat up to 120 F whenever I play any games. And when I just serf the internet the GPU is at 80F but the Front Board Sensor will be at 120F. Whatever the issues are it's causing the games to be very jerky and laggy nearly to the point of being unplayable. Any help would be appreciated.

Set Alienware Command Center thermals to Manual, then some nice up-hill-curves (especially the front fan, as it brings cool-air in).

Install CPUID's HW-Monitor to measure temps at idle and max-gaming. Once you know exactly what is over-heating, you can formulate a plan to fix/adjust.

Install MSI-Afterburner and setup a better fan-curve for GPU if needed.

120F is not hot for a GTX-980 GPU .

120F near a GTX-980 is completely normal and expected.
