Aurora R7, compatible DDR4 memory

Is there a list of compatible DDR4 memory for the Aurora R7, one that lists incompatible memory would be useful too. I'm looking at 2x8gb modules (unless it is better to get 4 x 4GB?) , 2666 MHz speed and there is a vast number to choose from - don't want to buy and find out it isn't compatible.

sites I'm looking at is scan.co.uk:  https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/memory-ram/1737/1955

overclockers.co.uk: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-components/memory/ddr4/ddr4-2666-mhz

maybe amazon/ebay

Kingston asked me to send cpuz of memory/spd tabs to compare OEM spec. With what they sell retail....none of their retail modules can be paired with the “wonderful” Dell OEM memory, according to their technical support department.

The advice they gave me, if I wanted to upgrade on the 16gb single OEM module, was to ditch it!! - simple as that. Who in their right mind is going to pay (I’m in the UK) around £360 per 16gb module to upgrade from Dell - as that is the ONLY place you can buy it, unless you fluke it and find someone who sells OEM memory from their machine.

I really don’t know how Dell can charge so much....I mean I can get 64gb kit from Kingston for not much more than 16gb costs from Dell. Talk about OEM price markup.

Thank you.

In Japan DELL, it was 51,950 JPY.
The HX429C17FB / 16 is 21,772 JPY.
I'm going to the Amazon.

Is there really no problem?

One will reach 2933Mhz at 1.35V and the other will reach 2933Mhz at 1.2V.

What can be set to different voltages for each one memory?

XRMWRN
-HYA is Hynix (Hyundai).

What vendor is -MIE?

If there is a difference between memory modules, the compatibility is bad, isn't it?

Can I mix 2 modules of HMA82GU6CJR8N-VK with 2 modules of Kingston HyperX Fury black HX426C16FBK2/32?

Thank you very much,

Nicola

Hi @DELL-Chris M ,

is it possible to mix two pairs of OEM Ram for the R7, for instance 2x16gb of the Hynix and 2x16gb of the OEM Samsung? Thank you so much!

I think it's Micron...

It states It states "Micron Technology"

I would not be concerned who makes it or the difference in voltage as long as they function properly.

Who actually manufactures the DRAM shouldn't matter if all their other specs are the same.

As far as I know, the voltage specs from 1.20 V to 1.35 V are proper operating voltages for these motherboard RAM sockets.

The problem is that the CAS Latency is different.
If you enter a different part number, XMP will not work.

We can see from the list I posted above that "Y7N41" could be any of the four memory vendors listed. That is why users run CPU-Z.

Y7N41 8GB, 2667MHz, DDR4, 1Gx64, 8K, 288 pin, 1Rx8, Single Rank, Unbuffered, 1.2v, Non-ECC
Hynix HMA81GU6CJR8N-VK
Kingston KY7N41-MIE
Micron MTA8ATF1G64AZ-2G6E1
Micron MTA8ATF1G64AZ-2G6H1
Samsung M378A1K43CB2-CTD
