Aurora R7, cpu upgrade failed from 8400k to 9700k

my aurora r7(20178 1st quarter or 2017 4th quarter) failed to turn on after replacing cpu. i put back old i5 8400 then worked. so it's cpu related issue.

i am giving you all information that all i know and have done fro upgrade

  1. mother board chipset is z370

-some sites say this z370 supports after updating BIOS from manufacture of MB,

OR  some other site say MB must have a USA BIOS falshback feature to run 9700k

--> i do not know what is corrrect.

  1. anyway i  updated bios before replacing cpu t via alienware update app. this app says  the computer is fully updated including bios.

--> did i something wrong? or my r7 technically cannot support 9700k? or dell has not released new bios to run 9700k?

please help me out....

Dell did not release a BIOS update to support 9th gen on the R7.  Instead, they released the R8.  The update to the bios is the difference between the two.  So you won't be able to complete this swap.

You need to liquid cooling option for it though. The oem air cooler is good for around 65w tdp.
