Aurora R8, HDD replacement
Hello, I received the basic R8 model which comes with a normal 1 tb HDD and no SSD two days ago. What do I need to do to replace the HDD with SSD? Really need step by step instructions.

1. Download something like Macrium Reflect then clone your 1TB Windows drive.
2. You're going to need to purchase a SATA data cable for your SSD. Dell doesn't include one.
3. Install new SSD into one of the 2.5" drive bays at the bottom of the tower. Connect SATA cable and power cable to the drive. Plug the data cable into one of the free motherboard headers.
4. Boot into Windows and image the SSD using Macrium Reflect.
5. After cloning, power off the PC. Temporarily disconnect the power cable from the 1TB HDD.
6. Turn PC on and enter UEFI BIOS by pressing F2. Change your boot priority to the SSD drive.
7. If Windows successfully boots, you're good. You can turn off the PC, reconnect the old HDD's power cable and turn back on. You can then format the old HDD to use as extra storage.
The above steps are the basics in a nutshell. You'll need to do your own learning and research as to how to use Macrium Reflect or other disk cloning/imaging software.

So I removed the SATA cable for the factory hard drive from slot one. I connected a Samsung 860 evo into slot one. The bios didn’t see it. Doing something wrong? The cable was snug in.

The 860 Evo is a 2.5" drive right, and not an M.2? If the former, did you also connect the power cable into the back of the drive? There are two cables that should be connected; SATA data cable going into the motherboard, and a power cable going into the power supply.
