Aurora R8, memory upgrade, #3
I bought my R8 with 2 sticks of 8GB Dual Channel HyperX(FM) FURY DDR4 XMP at 2933MHz for 16 GB.
I recently tried to upgrade to 32GB. I purchased Crucial Ballistix 3200 MHz DDR4 DRAM Desktop Gaming Memory Kit 32GB (16GBx2) CL16 BL2K16G32C16U4B. It meets the RAM specs for my R8. It seemed to work fine but when I would be playing a game my PC would freeze. I could hear the GPU slow down like when I quit a game. I would have to manually shut the PC down and then turn back on. As soon as I swapped the original RAM back in it works fine.
Crucial guarantees that this RAM would work in the R8.
Did I get a defective RAM?
Do I need to change a setting on the PC?

Did you buy directly from Crucial? They guarantee the memory. If you bought from a reseller you take a chance.
Check the specs of the ram you bought with this from Crucial--

The other thing you can try is clearing CMOS.

Also, did you remember to install them in the same color tabs, and do you have XMP1 or XMP2 enabled for the RAM?

Try running the long RAM test, F12 on startup, in ePSA diagnostics to see if the RAM is returning any errors.
