Alienware 14 OS Disk Replacement

Hi there,

So im looking at picking up an alienware 14 off ebay from goodwill with a missing key. fairly cheap though. They state it was "Data Wiped" meaning they COMPLETELY removed the original OS from the drive. Is there anyway to get a hold of the OS recovery Disks for it?

Thanks.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Re: Alienware 14 OS Disk Replacement

There is no such thing as Legal Disks for a machine missing COA.

Windows 10 system builder media with COA is available but its not free.

Re: Alienware 14 OS Disk Replacement

AlienAddict (the most prolific member on Arena), posted an upload of a genuine Win7 Home ISO, it is a perfect copy of the original Alien DVD which means it installs activated if you have an Alienware motherboard. It is your easiest way to get an activated OS on your machine. You could then upgrade it to Win10 the same day for free. Otherwise, original 7 install media can sometimes be found on eBay (search = Alienware 7 DVD). The 7 DVDs, because they activate with a generic OEM license, you could install Home Pro or Ultimate, depending on which version you have on hand (if install Pro/Ult, the free upgrade is to 10Pro). You can call / chat with Dell Sales, give them your service tag & inquire about buying reinstall media if they still sell it, these days it could be on a $35+ USB stick. If you run your service tag at Dell.com/support, you can get the original build sheet which explains which OS was on it originally. Click Support @top of this page, enter service tag, goto System Config / original config to find your original components. The best support community is NoteBookReview / Alien sub-forum, maybe someone there has 7/8.x reinstall media or a link etc if u ask, run a search on their search box etc

Natakuc has crafted the Ultimate Windows 7 8.x 10 Reinstall Guide > http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/

If your PC was sold w/Win8.1, the product key is already in the Bios, but you have to install the correct one (Home Pro etc for it to activate, there are 5 versions of 8.1, see Natakuc for 8.1 tips)
