Please could someone guide me with my issue.
I have a new 2014 Alienware 14. It came pre-loaded with Windows 8 - however after the upgrade to 8.1 my recovery partition is corrupted and I cannot restore the original Factory Image.
I have a retail copy of Windows 8 64bit. I am trying to reload my Alienware with it - however I am getting stuck on "Getting Files ready for installation 2%).
I have configured the bios :
SATA : AHCI
Boot : UEFI
I have read that people tried using boot mode legacy - but when they try to change back to UEFI - Windows does not boot.
In that case you can send me a PM with you service tag for me to check if there is something I can do to help you.

I can't always reply to PM's, if you need extra assistance visit:
That should work. Maybe try creating bootable flash drive from DVDROM .ISO.
However, I wouldn't burn a Win8 license on this machine if it's the same version as originally installed. Just call Dell to get Recovery Media.
