Alienware 15 External 4k@60 display?

The alienware 15 laptop has both HDMI 2.0 and Thunderbolt type C connector that supports DisplayPort. But does it actually support an external 4k@60Hz display?

We need a laptop to demo our UHD displays so we need something that can we can plug in to those. It's not necessary to do display mirroring or desktop extending, it's perfectly OK to have just the external display working.

You can buy Alienware 15 with UHD display that should work no problem but does it also work if we buy the FHD 1080p model?

RE: Alienware 15 External 4k@60 display?

4K@60Hz should work with the 15 R2 over the HDMI 2.0 port (I've heard success stories). The same should apply for the THB3 port, but getting the right adapter will be hard if the monitor doesn't support TB3 or USB C.

The type of panel on the 15 R2 doesn't affect the display ports ability to project 4K@60.
