Alienware Aurora reformat
Hello,
My desktop was running super slow and is 3 years old so I decided to do a reformat to factory settings. However, I forgot to use Respawn for the process. Now, after reformat, I have lost all programs from when it was sent to me from purchase by Dell/Alienware. Is there any way to reformat it again to get my desktop running normal again as I have all software installs that were Alienware. Thank you for any help. I looked through the stickies and couldn't find anything. I also tried to use the My Downloads section of the Dell account and it only gave me roxio to download. Thank you.

IIRC, the only time you can use Respawn is before you clean install.

As far as My Dell Downloads ... what did you expect to find there? Or, what kind of applications are you missing?

As stated previously. The Alienrespawn would have been the only option.
At this point you would have to gather the Alienware software from our website.
You can use that link Tesla just pointed out to.
Just make sure you install the adequate drivers, Command Center and then you install the Alien Respawn.
After that is done, it is imperative that you create a back-up with the Alien Respawn that way you can avoid this mishap again.
I hope you find this information useful.

That's just an image from the Alienware theme that they wrote with a Windows tool. Google it if you want. Personally, I would worry about custom images.
Again, what are you missing? What do you need to do now that you could do then?

I have been doing the updates and installing drivers from the dell website. Including respawn and command center. The one thing I am concerned about is if my desktop will run how it did when I first purchased it. During boot before, the alienware logo would show. However, now it is just the windows logo. I just want to make sure I have all the software required to run properly. I find the drivers on the dell site, but I do no see a place to download any of the software that alienware pre installed on my machine. Thank you again.

Oh alright. I wasn't sure if the image was part of a program that Alienware factory installed. I only recall a few of the programs that were pre-installed. Those being respawn and control center. I remember a lot more on my programs list and I don't want to miss something that would be critical for performance. Essentially, I am just worried that if I miss a program or software that I had before that it could be detrimental to my desktop is all. I really appreciate the help.

No, no performance enhancing programs.
Hope you skipped Intel-RST completely (never install).
Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials
You can install that Roxio if you want, but I prefer ImageBurn .
For video/DVD just install VLC.
You should be good to go. [:)]

Oh, and for Imaging Backup, I would use something that actually works and has support ... like maybe Acronis2010, Macrium, Paragon, etc.
