Alienware M18xR2).
Hi, I ran AlienAutopsy and it came up message: Hard Drive – Seagate FreeAgent GoFllex USB Device SMART Extended Self Test Cancelled by device. It also says I have 13 errors which render the sector unusable. Since these errors occur during normal drive… I have solid state drive. When I unplug all the external drives there are no errors (Alienware M18xR2). Also I run Norton 360 premium, should I tick the Disk Optimization box.

Hi marty2121,
SMART Extended Self-Test and Disk Optimization are mainly designed for mechanical drives. These tests will not make any change on the SSD performance. That is the reason you see error’s on AlienAutopsy as it will not be able to run the tests.

Hi Marty2121,
Perhaps, it could be a faulty external hard drive. When you run Alienautopsy without the external hard drive, do you have any errors?

no it's perfect without the other drives although the other drives are new. many thanks
