Alienware X51 R2 processor upgrade? I'm new to this stuff...
I have the base model...240w power, GTX 645. This is my current processor.
Intel Core i3 4130
Cores 2
Threads 4
Name Intel Core i3 4130
Code Name Haswell
Package Socket 1150 LGA
Technology 22nm
Specification Intel Core i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Can anyone recommend me a good i5 processor (i7 too expensive for me)? I;d like to improve my FPS in gaming. Would I need to change the power supply or anything like that? or is this a simple take out and put in thing?

If you want to improve your FPS in games, upgrade the GPU first before the CPU. Games are usually more graphics intense than CPU intense.
That said, the best GPU you can get is a GTX 750 ti. Your options widen once you get the 330w PSU.

With both upgrades (GPU and PSU), nothing else needs to be changed.
With that said, if you get the 330w PSU, you can get a GTX 960 or GTX 970 (max length: 10.5").

When getting the 330W, is there anything else I should change around? It's external so all I have to do is buy a 330w and plug it in and im good to go?
When I get the GTX 750ti is there anything else I need to change? Would it work okay with an i3?

So i can get a GTX 750ti and still use the 240w power supply? The one I linked says 150watts.

It would, but I think this is better.

It'll work, but it would be better to get the one I linked to avoid any issues.
The TPD of the GTX 750 ti is less than the TPD of the GTX 645 (it consumes less power than the GTX 645).
