Alienware X51 Ram frequency?

Hi

I own a Alienware X51 (lowest speced model), and want to know why my ram is only running at half the frequency as its supposed to be at. (1333Mhz rather than the 666Mhz its currently at). Is it because the intel i3 2120 cannot support it, or is it the motherboard? Will installing Ivy bridge bring my ram up to 1333Mhz?

Also, I'm still waiting for information on the new bezels to prevent the disk from falling out. If you have any info, please share! :)

No, it's because whatever you are using to read it is only looking at DDR but you have DDR2 (or double) ... so it's 666*2 = 1332. The guys over at CPUID have at least one utility that reads it right.

You should also be able to see it correctly from the BIOS. It should say 1333 DDR2 ... and also Dual Channel (but that is yet something else ... but also good).
