Alienware aurora psu 875w

Hey guys I purchased an alienware aurora and I have the 875w psu. Okay what I was wondering is what pins does it have available for use? Because I want to buy two new 7970s and they require one 8 pin and one 6 pin each. Could someone please help me out and let me know what pins this psu has and if I would be able to run two of these in crossfire.

I have an R1 and it has the ability to supply two eight pin connectors to each card. If you were to look inside your system at the connectors powering the card you would be better able to answer your own question. There should be two connectors to each card and on one connector another separate two pin connector should you ever require a total of two connectors with four pins each for any one card.

I wouldn't think the R2 through R4 have not changed much in that respect so yes, you would be able to install two 7970's.

Not sure which cards you have installed now, but the 7970's use about the same amount of power as the 6950's with the advantage of automatically powering down the slaved card when it's not needed.

Okay awesome thanks for the info.  So your saying it has a total of two 8 pin connectors.  Does it also have two more six pin connectors? I think it requires both not 100% for sure.

The 7970 requires one six pin and one eight pin each. You have two sets therefore you can install two 7970's in your sytem.

The 7970 uses less power than the 6970 therefore your 875 PS will be fine.
