Alienware m17x r1 Problems
Hello all, some time ago i started having some "random problems" with my laptop, well, i'm afraid it could be a motherboard problem, i really dont know, i'm out of warranty, if someone can help me i'll really appreciate that. Well these are the problems.
1.-Sometimes (50% of times), when i boot, it's like the 2nd card just disappeared, i can't see it on "Device Manager" or anywhere, is just like if it is disconnected. Sometimes is there, sometimes it isn't. I power Off, then power On, but still missing it.
2.-The second issue appears sometimes triyng to fix the first, and that's why i dont try to fix the first. The Keyboard becomes Laggy, i mean, i can't write fast, must wait a while before pressing the next button, EVEN IN THE BIOS. The only way to fix it is to let the computer shutted down, at lest 10 mins, and then turn it on.
3.-I want to upgrade the old drivers here in dell, to have better performance in games that came out later, but surprise the drivers in dell's website are years old, and nvidia drivers doesn't recognize my card, and this is a known issue with gtx260m users.
-The two first problems above are independant each other. They never happen while the laptop is on, just a lottery after booting. I tried reinstalling windows, but nothing changed, even before installing drivers i checked on device manager, the video card hidding was there. I also tried opening and cleaning, reconnecting, but no changes. I'm just hopping for someone to tell me, "man just open it again, clean connections and that's it", if theres a motherboard problem it's game over for me, because here in Chile, is impossible to fix it paying less than the price of the notebook, and here, Alienware sales doesn't exist anymore. Hybrid mode doesn't affect.
My laptop specs.
Model: m17x r1
CPU: C2D t9800
