Aurora R3 and Windows 10 Preview
Has anybody in the community tried Windows 10 Preview? Are we still SoL on upgrading like Windows 8? Really hope somebody has had success because DirectX 12 is a huge improvement over 9/11.

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm this information since Windows 10 has not been officially launched nor do we have a preview version.

I don't use Windows 8, have not tried 10 yet on my R4, & I'm not in a position this week or weekend to help out in a lengthy R3 meets Windows 10 trouble-shoot session. But to answer your 1st qwestion, yes:

I tried and for over 4 hours could not get it to stop the reboot hang that windows 8 had. I read in a second thread maybe it's the on board sound but I do not have a sound card to test this.

I was able to get windows 8 and 8.1 installed on my R3 by just force shutting down and restarting at the hang. It would resume from the point it failed. I recall the 8.1 not working as an update, however it worked with a clean install. Did you try this? That is if there is a windows 10 clean install available.

If you go to the Windows insider page you'll notice the .ISO's for clean installs of the technical preview are available. On July 29th the final .ISO's will be available also.
