There is a new Firmware for my hardrive on Dell... ST31000524AS but the system fails when I run the program.
I downloaded the drivedetect from Seagate and it shows up blank when I run it. Does not register ANY harddrives at all.
Then I noticed my HD was showing up as a SCSI drive in my device manager...
Forum post on MS says it is a problem with Dell's chipsets and to upgrade it...
Non Dell PCs show SATA HDs as SATA HDs in the device manager.
So I upgraded the firmware as well, since it was out of date. I upgraded the BIOS from A02 to A06... still showing up as SCSI.
Only 3 chipset drivers are listed... Dell-Drivers for Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility v188.8.131.523; Renesas Integrated USB 3.0 v184.108.40.206; Management Engine Controller v220.127.116.114
