when I upgrade my 500gb to 240 ssd... what I did was insert a usb 3.0 8gb at least thru alienware respawn and just follow the prompt. I did not clown as other people were suggesting I know you need an apps to clone your storage..And using alienware respawn did not give me any problem up to now..Just read the prompt carefully..
Did you try creating a Rescue Disk on an external USB HDD and booting to that? (instead of factory recovery media) What version of AlienRespawn is installed? Migh need to update that prior to doing any of this. I can confirm that the application does support smaller drives (we implemented that specially for these situations).
