Can I upgrade the video card to my X51? Alienware AX51-0066BK Desktop

I bought the Alienware AX51-0066BK Desktop April last year. I believe these are the specs on it (I'm at work right now)

3 GHz i5-2320
RAM 8 GB DDR3
Hard Drive 1024 GB
Graphics Coprocessor nVIDIA GeForce GT 545

I am pretty sure it came with a 250W power supply. I am not very savy when it comes to doing upgrades myself. However I am interested in upgrading my video card. Is that possible on this PC? If so what would you recommend (in the $200-$300 range)? The power supply is external I believe so I am not sure if I can even upgrade it. I am looking forsomething that would be a fairly easy plug and play. Thank you.

Metro Light seems to play very well on high settings on my current set up, but Company of Heroes 2 requires a little more punch and I would like to get more out my PC. Thanks

Hi tukai sen,

I appreciate the time taken to provide a detailed description of the system. Alienware X51 is shipped with a 240 Watt AC Adapter and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 is the performance graphics card that is supported by the system. You will need to upgrade the AC Adapter to 330W to use this card.

You can watch the video on how to upgrade the Graphics Card in Alienware X51 by visiting the following link:

To purchase a 330W AC Adapter, enter the Service Tag and click Submit by visiting the following link:

On the next page, click on the "Parts & Upgrades" tab and then on "Desktop Accessories". Search through the list to locate the 330W AC Adapter. You can purchase the graphics card online or from a local computer store and the cost may be above $300.

Please let me know if you need further information.
