Re: Drivers for Nvidia 660 OEM for X51?

Sajin1337

After much painstaking i have managed to resolve my issue and PhysX is now installed and updated.

The error i got suggested it was trying to search for the previous PhysX msi install but was unable to find its location.

I decided to start from scratch and so i reinstalled Dells original graphic drivers. When installing i noticed they installed in a different  location C:/Dell\Drivers\VHXPX

When i checked this folder i  found the PhysX folder along with the Physx msi install software. Im assuming driver sweeper never picked it up because technically that folder had been removed.

I then reinstalled your driver and when prompted for a different install path i simply amended it to Dells and bingo it worked.

Hmm. I've been using C Cleaner and Driver Sweeper for a very long time and it's never missed picking up the PhysX driver. I'm glad you finally sorted the issue out and now have it working. Have fun!

Re: Drivers for Nvidia 660 OEM for X51?

Just a heads up, it seems people have been having a problem with the 306.02 drivers (some people are reporting that the fan settings on the on the 306.02 drivers have been locking @ 30% fan speed.) As a temporary solution you should all download MSI Afterburner and adjust the fan speed manually to prevent overheating if you are experiencing this issue.

Re: Drivers for Nvidia 660 OEM for X51?

Hey,

New to this forum. I bought an X51 with a GTX 660 this week. Updated my drivers to 306.23 immediately. However... I can't play any game with decent FPS. Everything is laggy, right from the start. Even the menu of Shogun 2 is laggy...

You may be overheating.

How to perform temperature checks on your processor and video cards.

#1 Download and Install MSI Afterburner, CoreTemp, Unigine_Heaven3.0 & Prime95.

#2 How to check video card temperature.

Open MSI Afterburner & Unigine_Heaven3.0, set settings for Heaven to DirectX11, Extreme, High, 16x,  Disabled, 8x, Full screen unchecked, 1024x768 and click run and let heaven run for about 10 mins after the 10 mins have passed close heaven and look at msi afterburner and take note of what the Min and Max GPU Temperature °C is a post both of them into this thread.   e.g. Min: 30  Max: 75

#2 How to check processor temperature.

Open CoreTemp & Prime95, in Prime95 goto the Options Tab and select Torture Test, select Small FFTs then click OK to start the test. Allow prime95 to run for 10 mins after the 10 mins has passed close prime95 by going to the Test Tab and selecting Exit then look at coretemp and take note of what the Min and Max's are for Core's 0-3 or 0-5 for six core processors and post them into this thread.   e.g. Min 0-3: 30,31,32,32   Max 0-3: 75,76,77,78

Re: Drivers for Nvidia 660 OEM for X51?

I did the test in Heaven. These are my results:

GPU min 34°C max 65 °C

fan speed min 42% max 65%

Right now everything seems to be working... Which is really weird, because the only thing I did after my last post, was to manually set the fan speed to 69% using EVGA Precision. I have to mention though, that when I experienced the lag before, I don't remember hearing the fan working at all...  Maybe just changing it manually once, somehow fixed it?
