EDID feature causes display to turn yellow after intalling Catalyst 8.52
Good Morning,
Hopefully someone can provide some tip about how to fix this issue.
Two days ago I installed Catalyst version 8.52 for my 6970M. After rebooting my external U2311H turned yellow. I was able to fix this by disabling the EDID option under color management in Catalyst. Prior versions of catalyst are not affected. The Intel adapter works normally.
I've already tried rollingback and re-installing both the Dell and the reference AMD drivers. Version 8.52 causes my display to turn yellow (only the whites, all other colors seem ok).
I think there is something wrong in the EDID that is causing this.
Are there any tools that I can use to review the EDID to ensure it's correct?
Any Catalyst installation procedure (clean-up, etc) that might help?
My PC is a M17x R3.
Thanks in advance,
DELL-Chris M

We do not have any EDID tools. The closest I have found is SoftMCCS. You fail to mention to what ports the monitor is connected to the laptop.

I have used PowerStrip before (but you will likely need to find a tutorial online for it's proper use). Changes made with the free shareware version seem to stay on machine even if you uninstall it. You just can't be re-configging stuff or changing drivers afterwards or you have to redo it.
I have seen monitors report to Windows differently when using DVI vs. VGA (or DVI -> VGA converter).

Thank you for following up.
@Chris-M: I tried with all 3 connectors and got the same result. The connectors are the VGA-VGA, HDMI-DVI and DisplayPort.
The only concern I habe about PowerStrip or SOFTMCCS is that if the EDID of my monitor is corrupt I would not be able to identify the error.
Something I noticed is that PowerStrip says that it ccannot connect to th emonitor using EDID even though the option is enabled. I suspect there is something wrong with the monitor.

Also softMCCS was able to connect to the monitor through EDID.

I just ran softMCCS and took it through all the resets but there was no change. Can Dell provide an update firmware or should I just get the monitor replaced through warranty?

I would try the monitor on another nice computer (preferably a desktop running a nice AMD or nVidia card with working drivers) before I assumed the monitor was bad. It might be ... but I'm just saying ... that's what I would do.
