Faulty USB Slots on Alienware 17 Laptop

I've had my Laptop for about a year now but the USB slots have always been dodgy. If I shove a USB stick into the slot REALLY HARD and force it upwards it might register. But this hurts my fingers and is stupid. I would prefer just to be able to put a USB stick into the slot and the Laptop to register it like any normal computer! Do I have to send my Laptop back somewhere to be fixed?
