Fullscreen games resetting ICC profile

I have a new Alienware 15 R3 with FHD display. I had to recalibrate colors because they looked terribly yellowish. When launching some fullscreen games (Neverwinter to name one), even in fullscreen windowed mode, my custom ICC profile, despite being set as default, gets overridden with the yellowish factory one. After closing the game, my custom profile is set again. This seems to be an old and known Nvidia cards' issue. I googled a workaround but it needs access to settings that are not shown in my Nvidia control panel, which only shows the 3D settings thread.

I re-installed the Dell-specific graphic card driver to no avail. Is there a solution to this? Is it safe to install the drivers from nvidia.com (which are higher in v. number)?
