GTX 970 inside X51 R3 WITH GTX 1070 inside Graphics Amplifier...will it work?
Hi,
I currently own X51 R3 (Windows 10, 16GB RAM, i7 Processor) with GTX970 video card inside. I am wondering if I could add an additional video card GTX 1070 via putting it in graphics amplifier and connect it to my X51. Would it work? If so, do I install the driver for both 970 & 1070? Thank you.

Yes, that should work. You won't see a performance benefit or anything though from running two cards. Does the 1080 not fit in the X51 (or is it integrated??). You will just need one driver - NVIDIA has a unified driver design, so one driver covers all of their modern cards.

To clarify - you should see a benefit for things rendered on the 1070, but it won't work in parallel with the existing card to make it run even faster than a 1070 would by itself. If you hook on an AGA you will have both cards running, but I think only the one with your display connected will actually be "active" for rendering.

Thanks for your help. My card is 1070 and it won't fit inside X51.
It's interesting you said that I won't see any performance benefit. Could you tell me why is that so? Thank you.
