Graphic card disappeared
Hi, I'm using Alienware M17x r4 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M. Yesterday I got the blue screen and once the laptop restarted the gpu stopped working. I checked the device manager and was only able to find the driver after showing the hidden devices and when i check the details it tells me that the card is not connected. I disconnected the graphic card and reconnected it and nothing happened. I tried downloading the latest driver and it tells me the I don't have compatible hardware. I checked the BIOS and I found "Discrete graphic 1: not detected" I updated the BIOS and OSD driver and tried switching using [fn]+[F7] and still nothing happened. I also checked dxdiag and it did not show the graphic card. can someone please help me I'm out of ideas!!

After all the troubleshooting steps you have done we can determine that the video card is damage; are you still under warranty?

Unfortunately I don't believe that it's still under warranty. Can you help me in telling me what graphic card are compatible with my device as I'm considering upgrading from the one I had. Is the GeForce GTX 880m compatible?
Thank you.

What do you mean by "validated" and "not validated" would you please elaborate more?

Validated means the GPU has been Alienware tested and approved.
Not validated means that it has not gone through Alienware's testing, but consumers/owners have found ways to make them work. Usually a driver mod or something lite.
