How to play Ultra-HD Blu-Ray disks on Alienware 15R2

Is there anyway to play Ultra-HD 4k blu-ray disks on my Alienware 15R2 Laptop.

As per Cyberlink PowerDVD it only plays on Inter 7th gen CPU. But the error it gives is that GPU is not powerful. Is there any way to use the NVIDIA graphics card to play 4k Blu-Ray disks

you need three Things to be able to play UHD BD.

1. UHD capable Drive

2. current Intel CPU

3. PowerDVD or similar Software.

that is what i've been reading about it a few Months ago.

do you have the UHD Drive installed? last Time i checked there were no Slim Drives available, only 5.25 Fat ones.

Yeah I have a UHD drive from LG. It is an external powered drive. Also have latest version of PowerDVD

It is sad that only latest Intel processors are supported. So despite having an nVidia GPU, there is no way to use it for processing graphics. Even getting a Graphics Amplifier will not work as it will play Blu-Ray only off the built in GPU.

looks like it. everything about UHD BDs is very complicated.

i checked again. you need one of the Kaby Lake CPUs with HD 630 IGPU. on Top of that your BIOS should have the SGX (HDCP 2.2) Option and needs to be switched on. and last but not least, your Display should support HDCP 2.2.
