Lighting questions

I have 2 questions regarding Alienfx lighting on my new M17xR3.

1. The alienhead on the outside of the cover lights up but only in white. I can't find anyway to change it's colour - can this be done and how?

2. The rectangular light box around the touchpad will change to any colour except Black (i.e. extinguished). I really find that block distracting, especially as I use an external mouse. Is there a way to turn this off?
