M11x R3 - "3d Vison Monitors" - "Alienware OptX™ AW2310 or Asus VG236H" - Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode: ... See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes"
Good Morning All,
Speak to Dell technical support and sales the have confirmed that it is possible that the my machine is more then capable of displaying 3d when using the correct Hardware.
I have also confirmed on the nvidia website that it can do it as will and still meet the requirements to do so

The two models of 3d vision ready monitors i am looking at purchasing are Alienware OptX™ AW2310 or Asus VG236H, as i can get it on the cheap as i work for Asus . I am currently testing the Asus VG236H and i most say that the picture quality is excellent but is a bit off putting that i cant fully test the monitor as i get a warning error
"Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode: ... See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes".
HD3000 or Nvidia GT540M Optimus
I Have spoken to the Engineers here and they have advised
HDMI / Display Port connected to IGP - VGA / Dvi Connected to Discrete Gpu
Im assuming that when trys to run the monitor at its120htz the fails as its detecting the Intel HD3000 Frame Buffer.
I have selected the discrete Gpu to be running all the time and only have the machine display on the VG236H monitor but still get the error as advised in the following post
Is there any way to resolve this. it clearly states that Optimus and 3dvison will work together on this card.
Can someone confirm that im right or wrong and if the machine can actually do 3d vision.
I have looked at the Alienware and Nvidia Website and they are advertising the New M17x which has 3d via its 17" screen. if this is the case and the end user wants to us a external monitor then in theroy it would cause the same problem.. :(
Please help as i now feel ripped off in purchasing something that it doesnt actually do

"UPDATE"
It seems that the Way 3d Vision Monitors work they require the monitor to be connected via Dual Link DVI and not HDMI.
HDMI 1.4 3d vision Support (Gaming) will only work on the following 2 monitors
Acer GN245HQ
Tongfang LM2230W
This is completely useless
