M17x-R4-should one install the Soundblaster Recon3Di drivers?

I've done a clean install of 8 (blarg do I hate 8), and audio is working fine with Microsoft's drivers.  Windows Update gives me a Creative Labs Soundblaster Recon3Di driver though.

I'm hesitant to install it, given I prefer running Microsoft's drivers if possible, and audio's working fine, but I thought I'd ask about it. 

Typically Soundblaster "hardware" on notebooks is really just a piece of software, but in this case does the M17x-R4 actually use Soundblaster hardware?  I wonder because it actually shows up in Device Manager, and doesn't show any other audio devices...
