MX17 r3 Driver Issues

Hello, i recently did a clean install of windows and have reinstalled the required drivers from the dell support website. However i am unable to find the correct drivers for the PCI device, and my USB controller. There is also an unknown device. The two right usb ports on my notebook seem to work fine but the two on the left dont work.

Hi

I suspect the chipset driver is not installed.

Please check if you have installed the drivers in the order given in the link below:

http://dell.to/X1IKGu

Also find the link below for the drivers for your system model:

Revert for further queries.

Thanks

The chipset driver driver is installed and up to date (i checked with both the dell and intel software). I have installed all the drivers recommended by the dell software, and i installed the drivers in that order. However the two left usb ports are still not working, and the device manager is still not picking up drivers for the usb controller or the PCI device

Hi Godnaut,

Thank you for trying the suggested steps.  I would like to know if these drives were working before Operating system reinstallation.

Please update BIOs and chipset driver once again from the link given below:

BIOS: http://dell.to/16e8J50

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.

Chipset: http://dell.to/1cfKUMS

Restart the system and check. Also run complete Windows update.  also provide the screen shot of the Device Manager.

Revert for further queries.

Godnaut,

Open the Device Manager- Universal Serial Bus controllers. Do a screenshot so we can see what is listed.

Hi Godnaut,

Updating the chipset driver should have resolved the issue. Since the issue is persisting, I suggest you to clean install the Operating system once again and install the drivers in the correct order mentioned earlier.
