Motherboards R2 and R3

Ok, First question will the Aurora R3 motherboard work in the Aurora R2?

2. If so is it a screw for screw wire for wire swap?

3.will my AW widows 7 disk work still ?

Any info would be helpfull....

My reasons for this are CPU upgrade and SATA III interface....Upgrade on the R2 motherboard for the CPU is more pricey than new CPUs...plus hard to find.first generation i7..

The R3 motherboard is SATA III capable as were my R2 board is not, which I didnt know till after I put my 500gig SSD...lol

Although still much faster than HDD was.

1. It should, the case didn't change.

2. I don't know if anyone knows this for sure.

3. Yes, it should (because it will still be an Aurora, and R3 shipped with Win7-64 also).

A lot of work for just old Sandy-Bridge. Old CPU won't fit/work and I doubt memory also.

Are you sure you don't want to just install SATA-3 card in Aurora R2 PCIe slot?

What processor is currently in R2?

And yes, SATA-3 SSD on SATA-3 interface is about twice as fast as on just SATA-2 interface ... according to the benchmarks anyway.

Samsung 830 will do 514/401 on SATA-3 ... about half-that on SATA-2.
