Received your system?
Due to the amount of delays AW is having, I thought it would be a good idea to kind of track the build progress of these systems, or at least have a guess.
Please post your order date, system type (just the model), and your shipping date.
Thank you!

wow. i didn't realize people waited a long time for their systems. I waited about a week and a bit for my M15X. its the highest end model too. I guess I was lucky and everything was in stock. unfortunately its bad and im returning it for my money. "shakes head"

Well, my unit didn't have the media reader and since it hasn't been delayed yet I wont bother Lisa with my info. But looks like I know who to bug if/when it does get delayed. :)
Glad to see someone over at Dell actually monitors these forums for issues like this.

I went with Lunar Shadow with the 875W power supply. But my order doesn't reflect the power supply but it does the chassis. Same thing when I ordered my XPS 420 my order summary doesn't tell me my power supply.

After reading some of these post,it looks like I am screwed. Order date 1/28/10 never got a estimated ship date not even a email about the order. I did find out that I had a estmated ship date of 1/10/10 but now have been told new ship date of 3/10/10.

The chassis more than likely comes to Dell without a power supply installed, so they probably stopped selling the black at 525w for one of two reasons (or both): their stock is limited so they are trying to limit the amount sold to keep up with demand, or the demand for black is so high they realized they could score a premium for it by forcing you to upgrade your power supply. Either way I hope those that did order black get their computers regardless of what PSU they purchased.

I did a run through with the XPS and they have a delayed ship date too so it's not just Alienware.

@cowboycat
Looking at your order looks like your processor, memory, video card & 19-in-1 media card reader may delay your order. Though the website only confirms the video card & media card reader. They don't even offer that memory at the moment.
And I think you meant and EDD of 2/10/10 :p

I am on my "second" order and I just called the automated system after 1 week and I am still in the "processing" stage. I called customer care to see why I am not in the "build" stage as my previous order reached the "build" stage within 24 hours.
All she could tell me was that my order was "in production" and that I would receive my order sometime on or before 3/11/10. I pressed her to see if she could give me any info on delays, and she repeated the above...blah blah...I told her thank you for making me wait on hold 35 minutes for that insightful and detailed answer. gfy.
So, here are my stats, one more time for all to see:

Some people have posted that they were able to receive a shipping upgrade (overnighted etc) because of delays. Who did you ask for this service? The regular old customer service phone reps? I'm not having any luck with getting anything out of them except reading off a script.

Lisa G: I PMd you my order #! I hope you got it, 'cause I'm not sure if the "Private Conversation" thing is actually the private message system. Hope so.

I checked the build site a minute ago and the memory is there for the Area 51 but not the Aurora. Is it not the same memory? I have an interest in this because I put an order in last week for an Area 51 with that memory.

How do you find out where things are delayed? Do you have any more info on the XPS and what exactly is causing the delays?
