Received your system?

Due to the amount of delays AW is having, I thought it would be a good idea to kind of track the build progress of these systems, or at least have a guess.

Please post your order date, system type (just the model), and your shipping date.

Thank you!

you will not but if you complain enough or ask for legal department then you may get somewhere

Well I will jump on the band wagon again. Just received my second notification of a delay of my Aurora. Also received an email and phone call asking if I wanted to cancel. I was tempted but - did not.  Ordered on 10 Feb with a delivery of 4 Mar - then 11 Mar - now 16 Mar.  Vhesper I tried to find out what the hold up might be and I would take care of any single item myself but they are just not set-up to be that flexible. I did get a chuckle from one email stating they were sorry for the delay and they were upgrading my delivery to "2 days" without charge. I responded thanking them and then said it was rather moot at this time.

After receiving my 3rd delay, I figure I should weigh in here as well. I ordered a Area-51 on 2/3/2010. Now my Delivered date is 3/17/2010 and my patience is about at an end. That will put it at 6 weeks to build a computer. If they would just tell me the part, I would gladly order it from Newegg and have it shipped to them for credit on the bill.

Hey Marvelatmee I ordered mine on  Feb 10th as well and Im currently showing "delivery preparation/shipped" status on my account page. Keep your hopes up yours should be shipping any day now, at least you got 2 day shipping :(  Im here waiting 3-5 days.

Marvelatmee, I have not even been given the graciousness of having my delivery upgraded. Next delay I will simply take my 3,200 elsewhere. Dell doesn't seem to need/want my money apparently.

Great news mixshows. I will keep my fingers crossed for something positive.

Update:

Will Be Here THURSDAY! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hopefully it doesnt come with any problems, thats the last thing I need right now.

NOTE: If anyone wants the most up to date status go to "My Account" and check under "recent orders",

this showed "delivery preparation" 2 days before any of the other pages on Dell.

telll me what you guys think of this

sorry for the long post

First off i just want to say that i am on the dell payment plan( very bad idea) .  i had a XPS 630i but that had so many problems. well really just one it locked up on me many times. Everytime i called in the tech person would do the same thing over and over again each tome and the problem would not get resolved. so they decided to first replace my graphics card and that had no effect my system still locked up (i had already ran several deep system scans and nothing came up as well as flashed the bios and clean the the registry). then they replaced my hard drive (only one even though i had 2 ) and that did not work my system still froze. So finally they decided to swap my system for an xps 8100 and an agent would call me and go over the specs with me. that never happened !!! so finally when i got the order number the specs of the 8100 did not even come close to matching  the specs of my xps 630i so finally after several calls and hours later i was told that i would receive an alienware aurora as an replacement and when i was done with that agent after going over the specs it was the same or a bit better in some parts. when i looked at the order a few days later none of the specs were right and the computer was worse than mine. so began the cycle again so finally it was fixed and i was set to what i should be. Now the Xps 8100 arrived so i refused to sign for it and told them to return it to sender which is what i was told to do by the resolution specialist  then about  a week a person called from dell asking where the xps 8100 was!!!!!! Well it took almost 3 weeks to get here so how on earth would it come back in 1 week?!!!!! Now i get the alienware aurora about 3 weeks later and late.  Now this whole time i payed dell for a computer that did not work right for 3 months which works out to be $245.31. this is not on top of the software support that i had to buy  which was about $120 and they said that i used one incident but they never could fix or they said that it was a hardware problem.    so wanted something to compensate me for the time lost and money spent. i asked for a monitor and i was told no so asked for a blue ray drive for my computer and looks like i wont get one. i was offered a  McCaffe or a office home and student edition. both of which i already have . I do not want to talk to some one over in India!!!!!!! I want to talk to some one in America!!!!!

Hey flightca, correct me if Im wrong but Ive definitely read this before...maybe in another thread?

this is why I said I hope it doesnt arrive in a condition that Id be forced to have to send back to Dell.

Just from reading stories like yours and many others on this board and all over the internet it really

looks like dells replacement times are way beyond unacceptable. 6 months to receive a replacement

PC is an eternity to those of us who who entertain ourselves by watching movies and playing games

or even something like making a living by working on their computers, 1 month is not acceptable!

Imagine being without your car for 6 months...

fightca:

First and foremost - this is not the proper thread for your post. This thread is to compare order dates vs delivery dates, etc.

Sounds like to me you should return your DELL and request a full refund and go else where if you've had such a bad experience. Granted, Dell may not have the best customer service, but you can't expect them to be 100% perfect all of the time.

My unit has come in free of defects, a few days AHEAD of original schedule dates. I can't complain at all. My experience with Dell has been just fine. Nothing overly special, but nothing horrible like your story either.

Dell is obviously having some issues. But as I continue to read this tread more and more people are saying their units are shipped and I see less and less about delays. There are a few who still haven't gotten their system, but looking at it from an outsider point of view, it looks like Dell is trying to make things right and trying to get the units out the door.

But as I said, instead of wasting your time on forums, I'd demand my money back, return whatever junk they've sent you and find another source for PC's there are several routes you can take there.
