The Alienware Aurora R4 desktop system supports memory type Quad Channel DDR3 1600 MHz and Quad Channel DDR3 2133 MHz XMP. It does not support memory type DDR3 2400 Mhz, so that must be why its not recognizing the ram properly.
I've been having the same problem. I tried 4 8gigs of viper 1600Mhz and the same thing happened, the computer cycled on and off a few times then just stayed on but both monitors were black. I've returned the ram that I purchased and purchased some from Dell. I hope that works.
My solution was returning the Corsair Memory and I bought this:
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($139.99 @ Newegg) Total: $139.99 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-01-28 08:56 EST-0500
This arrived a couple weeks ago plugged all four sticks in and my computer booted the first time without problems. It was actually just plug and play which was very nice given my struggles with the corsair memory. It recognized all 32GB at 1600Mhz and loaded the XMP Profile.
My problem was that I missed the fact that my processor the Intel I7 3820 is limited to DDR3 1600 MHZ RAM. Personally I am a big fan of dell computers and I wasn't ready to build my own yet so the Alienware R4 was perfect. I added a second GTX 680 and now the RAM and I have been able to overclock to 4.2 stably tested with Prime 95.
I looked at dell's RAM and I felt it wouldn't quite give me what i needed. Since I use Flight Sim I needed relatively flexible RAM. The G-Skill RAM above that I bought comes stock at 1600 Mhz but has a little headroom. Often times its running at 1666Mhz and I haven't had any problems.
Next time around i will definitely be building my own. Here's my part list for my next build.

Did you find a solution to the problem?
