Still waiting on 1070 + AGA Update

Still waiting on a driver or Bios update that allows the GTX 1070 to work with the Graphics Amp. Getting sad looking at a $650 paperweight (AGA + 1070).

The reason why the GTX 1070 is not working with the amplifier when hooked up to an alienware laptop is because the drivers installed on the laptop do not support the GTX 1070 Desktop GPU, you just have to wait for NVIDIA to release a new update which adds support for both GTX 1070 and GTX 1080....

don't worry as even the 1080 is partially working. MIne keeps changing the core clock and the benchmarks are less than 980TI and Titan

Right now the drivers support the 1080.  The 1070 can work if you leave it in the AGA and install the desktop drivers, but it can get a little funky when you disconnect it.

The core clock is dynamic.  Mine appears to be working fine.  NVIDIA 1080 FE.  A laptop system is generally going to bench lower than a desktop - I'm not worried about benchmarks as much as how my games actually run.

You also have two threads saying basically the same thing, but don't seem to be coming back and participating in the replies.

As I just mentioned on your other one, you did plug in the full 8 pin power plug to the card, and you have removed/reseated it, making sure the PCIe latch is fully engaged, correct?

Yes, you can do that.  It's a bit funky but it works, at least until the unified mobile driver is out, which you should see soon.
