Upgrading Graphics card
I am planning to upgrade my X51 R1 to a new card, however I have concerns about the power usage and what will actually run with my machine. Any help with choosing one will be great

Not really. You want to look at GPUs with a blower design (fan at the far end of the GPU; look at your GTX 555 to know what I mean).
PNY, ASUS, MSI, Palit, and I think some other company (forgot which one) make blower design GPUs.
