Hi,

Thanks for confirming that. Have you added new hardware or replaced any components?

I have changed the gpu for a GTX750 and changed to the more powerful power brick.

Also I have swapped the HDD for a SSD. These changes were made more than a year ago. This error message started this month.

Thanks

Hi,

We did not validate the GTX 760 with the Alienware X51 R1. Therefore, we cannot confirm if it should work properly with this system. Are you using a PSU provided by Dell?

Yes, it is a Dell PSU, as supplied by dell to the higher spec X51. It's interesting that you don't validate the GTX 760 as Dell sold x51s with that card fitted as stock.

These changes were made more than 12 months ago and I have just started to have the warning message on startup.

Any ideas as to what is causing the warning message? How worried should I be?

Thanks

Hi,

Are you sure it wasn't the Alienware X51 R2 that you saw with the GTX 760s? As far as I know we have never sold the X51 R1 with GTX 760s. I'm not sure if the video card could be related to the issue, you could maybe try testing another video card to confirm if you get the same message.
