I have done this. Now what?

Test the following for static-free operation and post your Results:

1. Play (clean Pre-Recorded) MP3 or WAV with Windows Media Player
- Result:

2. Record your voice with Windows Sound Recorder and Playback in Windows Media Player
- Result:

i tried 1 ... still have the same static.

If you can't play a pre-recorded MP3 or WAV file (for example one of the 3 music files that come pre-installed with Windows-7) without static ... I would just focus on that problem right now.

Do you know how to "clean install" the latest proper audio driver for your machine?

So, you can play MP3 without static. Test #1 passes.

You can't record without static. Test #2 FAILS

Questions:
1. Are you under warranty?

2. Do you know how to "clean install" the latest proper audio driver for your machine?

Ok, well then ... lets try a normal install (by updating) first.

Go to this page, read the Installation Instructions, and install the driver.

Test operation after it finishes. Be sure to eventually reboot x51 and test again.

Reboot computer and try again.

Why would you even try to? No, nothing else should be running. Download a new copy and try again.

Ok I will. I'm not even close to pro at this. so I might make some mistakes on the way.

I restarted my computer, had nothing running and downloaded a new copy and tried again but it said it still failed.

Are you sure this is an x51-R2? Or, is it maybe just the original x51 (aka, x51-R1).
