blue screen trouble.

Jump to solution

Hi

About a year ago i bought my alienware 17x. I have been having blue screen problems for about a month. I have tried to reset windows, but it didn't fix the problem. After every time I have a blue screen a window pops up and says that windows has experienced a unexpected shutdown. I click to see details and I get this message:

Problem signature:
   Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
   OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
   Locale ID: 1044

Additional information about the problem:
   BCCode: dead dead
   BCP1: 000000000F010012
   BCP2: 0000000001A700AC
   BCP3: 0000000012BC0000
   BCP4: 0000000000000000
   OS Version: 6_1_7601
   Service Pack: 1_0
   Product: 768_1

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix the problem? ( sorry for my bad english. English is not my native language.)

The symptoms point towards a software problem. Try to do at Clean Boot to temporarily disable all (non-Microsoft) applications. Test the computer and if the BSOD doesn't come up, start enabling back the applications in small groups of 5 until you determine which on is causing the crashes.

If issue persists, the next step I recommend is doing a factory restore using AlienRespawn

Hi!

Are the BSOD random or are they triggered by a certain program or application? Download and install Blue Screen View to retrieve the BSOD stop error code. Post a reply with the information so we can help you further.

Hi!

I've installed the program. The BSOD error code is 0xdeaddead. Do you have some more understanding of what the problem might bee?

I need you to provide more information about this issue. Are the BSOD random or are they triggered when you use a certain program or application? Did you install any new software, drivers or Windows updates before the problem started? Do you receive any other error messages?

I suggest you run an ePSA diagnostic to check for hardware errors and make sure you have the latest BIOS. If nothing comes up, try to do a System Restore using a recovery point before the problem started.

I get the BSOD on random occasions. It can happen weeks apart or minutes apart. They often happen when i play lol or surf chrome. I have done the ePSA test and it didn't show anything. I did a system a while back. After the reset i installed chrome, league of legends, bitdefender antivirus free version, office 365, utorrent and spotify. The same day i got the BSOD again. I had the same problem before and after the reset.
