how do i move games from ssd to hdd
Alienware 17 R4 purchased March 2017. Is it better to have my games (BF1, BF4, SW Battlefront and COD4) on my SSD/256GB to my HDD/1 TB? If so, how do I do it.

Amazingly (in my opinion), games installed in Steam and Battle.net appear to be fairly portable (almost like the old DOS days). I noticed I could more the game's folder and it would still work (without re-installing). Not sure about Origin and uPlay.
For standalone games or using some other DRM platform, I would suggest you do it the normal way. First backup your saves and/or profiles (Google it if you need help). Then proceed to uninstall from HDD and re-install on SSD (or vice-versa).
I like to leave at least 50gb free on SSD at all times (for future non-game program installs, swap file, etc.)

I've got all my games on an SSD. Unbeatable speed.
Fresh installs are always preferred to my experience: I ince did the same for x-Plane 10 (flight sim) with tons of add-ons, total of ~90 GB. First I copy pasted everything (which already took a long time), but it didn't work 100%.
As Tesla1856 said: Daddy Google should be your last resort in case of further questions. Am sure there are tools out there that cater for just your need.

Sounds like you were running out of space on your SSD and want to move games over to HHD?
If you aren't too far along in setting up your new system you could restore to original setup and then when loading games be sure to select the drop-down arrow to select the drive you want to load game onto. With 4k screens the menu boxes can appear small (due to proper scaling) so look for the drop-down.
You can also open up both drives file explorer side by side and cut and paste into the other drive. I would create a separate folder in the destination disc for the specific game and paste the game into that folder on the preferred drive. That should move the game for you and hopefully any shared files along with the program.
Always back up your current drives before modifying system should you need to restore.
