Hi,

What happens if you exit out of the Alien Respawn screen? There may be a problem with the Windows boot files causing the system to boot into this recovery option. Try pressing the F12 key during the initial boot sequence to access the Boot menu. In the Boot menu, select your primary Hard Drive/SSD and confirm if it boots to the same Alien Respawn screen.

Just so you and other responders know ...

This sounds like a "Legacy" or Pre-Dell Alienware Laptop, over 7 years old. The spinning hard-drive likely failed. Even if you can get it to restore with the bundled Symantec Ghost, it will likely only be to Windows-XP or Vista.

Once you verify the motherboard and hard-drive are 100% working, a complete format and re-installation of a supported version of Windows (with external media) is likely the best course of action.

The users over here might be of some help, due to the machines age:

... because towards the end of setup, you will need at least a couple of specialized drivers to return full functionality.
