15 R4, mouse light stays on

Light on Alienware mouse goes on and doesn't shut off. when the Alienware laptop is in hibernation and the button on the mouse is accidentally pushed.  Then I have to turn on the computer to get the light to go off.  How do I fix this?

Are you sure the computer is actually completely off? Even an ext mouse should go off without power. It could be in Hybrid Sleep or Hibernation and just look like it is off. Check your Power Settings, Advanced settings to change settings.

Actually, yeah, it's just in hibernation, not when turned off.

Hi @MarkFleener

I don't think that is an issue with the mouse, but rather with the power config and hibernation. Check power setting and also, you can try reinstalling/updating the BIOS and the AWCC.

I ended up having to do a Windows 10 factory reset to fix the problem.

15 R4 for $4,000 and it only lasted a year.  Has a warranty with both, Dell, and Geek Squad, and neither of them could fix it.  Did factory reset and it's still corrupted.  I want a computer that's built to last.

Tech support is sending me a box so I can ship the computer to them, but I'm confused, the instructions say not to send them any external devices, but it's the external mouse that's issue.  How can they see to it that it's fixed properly if I don't send it to them?  In fact, there's two identical Alienware mouses, one of which is brand new, both behaving differently, yet malfunctioning.  It makes me think that there is something wrong with the old mouse and the computer.
