The "A" key on the keyboard of my Alienware 15 R4 produces a creaky sound when I apply slight pressure on it. The whole actuation 'feel' of the key itself is still the same as other keys though. This is a small issue but it does annoy me sometimes. I suspect that there might be some dust or something that has fallen under the key that's causing this. So is there a way to remove the keycaps to clean under the keyboard without breaking the key?
Basically they just pull off. Dont try and lever it off or it will go flying across the room.
Make sure the laptop is off when you do it as there is quite a bright led behind the key.
You can buy a puller from Amazon but all it does is enable you to grip the key evenly.
No. If you do it carefully. Its the only way to get them off there is no other way. They snap off and they snap on. You can get a replacement clip online if you manage to break it.
