Aurora R1, Fresh OS install, sata dock not recognized, Win7 64 Sp1 Home Premium

Hi,

I just reinstalled my OS and now when I plugged my Thermaltake Black X dual dock , it is not recognized on my PC.

I went into the device manager and I see "SATA Coltroller"yellowed out, I did try to update driver but I get no driver available.

FWIW this dock is working with the USB as well as the HD in it. So neither of those is the issue and it was working esata fine prior to the OS re-installation.

This is from the properties:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. (does not work)

Hardware ID:

TIA,

Well kick me in the butt and call me nuts ;-)

The fix was there all the time! I just popped in the receorse cd and opened the device manager and had the driver loaded from that, worked perfectly!

I was looking at some of my old post on the seven forum and found my old answer.

Thanks all for the patience!

If you have an Aurora-R1, with Windows-7 (64bit), and you are trying to use the eSATA-Port (on the back), then you will need to install the SIS/SIL eSATA Drivers:

It’s not the dock; it’s the SATA controller. Based on those Device Manager entries, Google “Silicon Image 3132 Windows 10 driver” and you should find what you need.

My Aurora is old and from what I read in the Dell documentation its just called Alienware Aurora.

Is that the version your talking about?

Your link is for the 3124 and your chipset appears to be the 3132. According to a link I found (let’s see if Dell lets me post it here), the Win10 and Win7 drivers are the same: http://www.driverscape.com/download/silicon-image-sii-3132-satalink-controller

Sorry, I didn’t actually go through all the way to try to download it. However, what was the problem with the Dell link provided by Tesla1856? That clearly says it’s for the Silicon Image 3132 for Windows 7. And the “R1” just means “Release 1”, which would mean the original Aurora. What happens when you try to install that even if you have to do it manually through Device Manager? Or did you not even try that link first?

Actually tried both w/o any luck. Now I'm on a trusted site I have used in the past called Driversupport

https://www.driversupport.com I guess they got the ok from MS.

Downloaded there friver for the ata and sams issue, called there tech support buy too late in the day have to call back in the am.

This is nuts ;-)  should be plug and play not plug and pay ;-)

Well it depends on what’s happening, and you’re just saying things aren’t working without providing any details. When you go to Device Manager, select the storage controller, click Updated Driver, and point it at the folder where you extracted the driver you downloaded from the Dell site, what happens?

Would it be possibly that something was turned off in services?
