m17 R3, screen flickering, occasionally going black whilst awake
Alienware m17 R3
Hey,
I've had this issue with flickering going on for a while now, however recently it appears the screen is blacking out more. I have tried connecting to another screen/monitor with success- not blacking out or flicking. I have also restored my laptop to factory settings and done a clean installation of both intel and Nvidia drivers with no success. This issue doesn't seem to happen when I'm watching videos or playing games, only when browsing which is odd. I think it is important to mention that this problem doesn't occur 100% of the time, it seems to happen in irregular intervals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The warranty expired last January.

Please be aware that if Reliability Monitor has many lines of "Successful Application Reconfiguration" informational events the Reliability Monitor Stability Index number will be low. There is some kind of abnormality between SupportAssist and other actions of Windows that is causing these Reconfiguration events to occur.
