Hi,
Unfortunately, we do not have this information, since we specialize on Windows based operating systems. However, you should be able to find this procedure online. Either on a Linux Ubuntu support site or by searching on different support forums. You should also ask other Linux users here on our Linux Forum board.

Try this guide out and let me know if it works for you. I've already tried with my 17 R4 with no luck but maybe you will succeed where I failed.

It works for me on my Alienware 15 but I use parrotOS and mostly the r1 and r2 version of the 13 15 and 17 work for Linux.
