The fans will only turn off when cpu is below 40C. And this is only for on battery. If you are connected to power outlet they act differently and won't turn off completely.
If dell would give us access to the EC controller or something, so we can just make fan curves with custom programs we wouldn't complain. I can never advise alienware to anyone now. Somehow on XPS 13 you can control the EC controller and make custom fan curves.
Dell finally fixed it! Ver. 2.2.1 is quiet again. The processor fan does not shut down in the same temperatures as before, but at least is around 50% speed and it's quiet enough to me.
Thank you Dell!
Dear friend i'm a user of Dell Inspiron 20 Model 3048.
After upgrading BIOS A9 the fans noise destroy my head. Downgraded by double clicking BIOS version A4 (which is optional) after downloading it. Nothing happened. Reformatted PC, wrote Windows 10, nothing happened - just waiting miracle. Help me please.
I use Inspiron 20 Model 3048.
What is your downgrade "style"? Is it ok to download exe file then double click to downgrade the BIOS?
Has anyone else had trouble upgrading from BIOS 2.0.4? I'm on that version, and when I try to upgrade (either via the Dell website or by loading the .exe on a USB flash drive), my computer restarts to a blank screen, which persists even if I wait several hours. I'm only able to get back into the Windows OS by unplugging the computer and hard restarting via the power button.
