m17 R2, AWCC crashes when keyboard FX is clicked

Hi. On my Alienware M17 R2, the Alienware Control Center crashes the second I click on the keyboard FX in the top right part of the window. I followed all the steps for reinstalling AWCC (Uninstall, clear files from %appdata%, %programdata%, regedit, Documents & C:\ProgramFiles. I've updated the BIOS and the whole system still the problem persist. Annotation 2019-08-21 144802.png

Same for me here. I'm glad i'm not alone because even if it's not a major problem, this bug is annoying.

Same exact issue when trying to change keyboard settings. Dell needs to fix this ASAP. Brand new $3000 laptop, also freezes randomly!

Same issue here.  Updated all drivers and firmware, but problem persists.  Also, Alienware Command Center alerts me that it's downloading and installing a new version, but never seems to do so and doesn't display any sort of progress / status indicator.

I have corrected this on my computer, I'm not saying this is going to work on yours but hey its worth a try.

1. Use this guide to uninstall AWCC (https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln303405/how-to-remove-and-reinstall-the-alienware-command-center?lang=en

2. Reboot

3. Re-Install the latest BIOS on your r2 from support and driver downloads (yes even if you are on the latest, reinstall)

4. After reboot check for windows updates (i was on build 1903 and had a 1909 update which i installed)

5. Reboot after update installs

6. Download AWCC version 5.2.29.0 from here: <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

7. RUN the Installer as ADMIN (install)

8. After installer completes don't open anything and reboot

9. Wait 2-3 Minutes after reboot and login to open AWCC

10. When I opened AWCC it told me that i had to wait 30sec or so before it was be able to be active, WAIT

11. When AWCC finally came up it asked if i wanted to adjust lighting or OC settings.

12. Click Adjust Lighting and I was able to change the Keyboard Effects along with TRON and ALIEN HEAD

Hope this helps !!
