SQL 2005 with AppSync
I realise this isnt supported but is it possible to use AppSync with SQL 2005?

I have not heard of anyone getting it to work...The oldest SQL host I have personally tested is SQL 2008.

I know that its not supported but will it work (and not be supported) or will it error?

No. AppSync does not support SQL 2005, as it is an end of life product version. Microsoft is ending their extended support April 2016.

Hey Johnny,
I believe it will error, but I can't prove it. My only SQL 2005 instance is on a Windows Server 2003 VM I'm about to retire. Even when I manually installed the AppSync client on the server, AppSync will not connect because it is an unsupported OS. I suspect that would be the answer for SQL 2005 even if I had it on a Server 2012 VM.
Sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer.
